Visions du Reel 2024 – The VDR Industry

The 2024 edition of Swiss documentary film festival Visions du Reel launched 29 projects under the section for industry VdR-Industry. The selection of works in various stages of production was made in accordance with artistic potential, compelling topics and international appeal. Sixteen of the selected films were invited to pitch their work to film professionals in the VdR Pitching and VdR-Work in Progress forums. Two new cash awards were launched this year. The Eurimages Co-production Development Award was presented to “The Last Days of the Hospital” directed by Mehran Tamadon (My Worst Enemy, Bassidji). The Xe Award, accompanied with CHF 20000 in cash, was given to Salvatore of Lucan’s “Life of Tipu” that tells the story of an Irish-Bangladeshi singer who discovers his father’s exile on Facebook and embarks on a journey to meet him.
